The best safari africa packages are fully guided, state their park fees and inclusions clearly, and fit your time and budget. For a first trip, the 5-day Victoria Falls and Chobe classic at $1,100 per person is the safest pick. Budget campers should look at the Chobe 2-night camping safari at $780. Travelers who want deeper park access should consider the Hwange 2-night trip from $800. If you have almost two weeks, the 12-day Botswana and Victoria Falls route at $4,680 covers the most ground.
Comparing African safari packages online is frustrating. Prices are quoted per person, per night, with or without flights, and park fees, tips and visas often sit outside the headline number. You can end up with six tabs open and no idea which trip actually fits you.
This guide sets four Maximum Adventure Trails packages side by side, using their real inclusions and prices. We are a travel agency based in Victoria Falls, operating since 2019, so these are trips our own guides run. After the four picks, you will see how the prices compare, what they leave out, and when to go.
1. Classic 4-night Victoria Falls and Chobe package
The 4-Night Victoria Falls & Chobe Safari is the best starting point for first-time visitors, because it fits the falls and a full Chobe game-drive day into five days.
What you get
This is a five-day, fully organised and guided package. You see Victoria Falls from both the Zimbabwe and Zambia sides, then spend a full day on a game drive in Chobe National Park, Botswana. You stay at Shearwater Village.
- Roundtrip airport transfer
- Professional driver and guide
- All taxes and VAT
- A 13-minute "Flight of Angels" helicopter flight is featured in the package
- Not included: international flights and tips
Who it suits and what it costs
It suits first-time visitors to southern Africa, couples, families and small groups. The price is $1,100 per person, quoted on your travel dates, group size and room type, so the final figure can move.
Optional extras are priced separately. Devil’s Pool costs $130 to $175 per person and runs only from August to January. Rhino tracking and a lion walk each start at $160 per person.
Choose the classic if you want the falls and a Chobe safari day without planning any of it yourself.
2. Chobe 2-night bush camping safari
The Chobe 2-Night Bush Camping Safari is our most frequently booked overnight package, and it gives you real bush time on an African safari tour.

What you get
You spend three days and two nights in Chobe National Park, sleeping in tents at an exclusive bush campsite. The package has four game drives, a river cruise and campfire dinners. That adds up to roughly 15 to 16 hours of drives and cruises.
- Tent accommodation for 2 nights
- Four game drives and one river cruise
- Taxes included in the per-person price
- No phone signal, no WiFi and no electricity at camp
Who it suits and what it costs
It suits travelers who want more than a day trip and are happy to unplug. Pricing starts at $780 per person, so two adults pay $1,560.
Camping here means a tent, campfire meals and no screens. If you need a charging point every evening, pick a lodge-based trip instead.
3. 2-night Hwange safari with four game drives
The 2-Night Safari Experience in Hwange National Park suits travelers who want dawn and dusk drives, which a day trip cannot give you.
What you get
The three-day, two-night trip departs from Victoria Falls. You stay at Gwango Heritage Resort, within reach of Hwange National Park. Hwange is a large park.
- Four guided game drives in an open 4×4 safari vehicle
- Full board, all meals
- Two nights at Gwango Heritage Resort
- Park entry fees of $24 per adult per day, paid at the gate
Who it suits and what it costs
Prices start from $800 per person. Park fees come on top: $48 per adult for two days, payable at the gate. Two adults therefore pay about $1,696 ($1,600 plus $96 in fees), before flights and tips.
It suits wildlife lovers who want a lodge bed at night. Because it is a longer trip than a day tour, you get more time in the park.
Hwange rewards travelers who trade a day trip for early starts and a real bed.
4. 12-day Botswana and Victoria Falls safari
The 12-Day Safari Adventure is the right pick when you want several of Africa’s best wildlife areas in a single trip rather than one park.

What you get
The route runs through the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve, Khwai Concession, Savuti and Chobe National Park. It ends at Victoria Falls. Accommodation mixes tented camps and mid-range lodges.
- 12 days
- Five distinct wildlife areas in Botswana
- Finish at the falls after the bush
- Check the package page for exact inclusions before you book
Who it suits and what it costs
It suits nature lovers and adventure seekers with at least two weeks. The adult price is $4,680 per person, which works out to $390 per day.
Confirm what is covered beyond the itinerary: international flights, tips and any visa fees. Our planners can match the route to your dates.
Pay for the 12-day route only if you will use the time, since the Delta and Moremi are the draw.
How safari package prices and inclusions compare
Short camping safaris start at $330 per person, lodge-based classics sit around $1,100, and a 12-day multi-park route is $4,680.
Price and inclusions side by side
| Package | Length | Starting price per person | Where you stay |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Night Chobe Camping Safari | 2 days | $330 | Camping inside Chobe |
| Chobe 3-Night Camping Safari | 4 days | $620 | Camping inside Chobe |
| Chobe 2-Night Bush Camping | 3 days | $780 | Tent at bush campsite |
| 2-Night Hwange Safari | 3 days | $800 | Gwango Heritage Resort |
| 4-Night Victoria Falls & Chobe | 5 days | $1,100 | Shearwater Village |
| 12-Day Safari Adventure | 12 days | $4,680 | Tents and mid-range lodges |

Per day, the classic costs about $220, the Chobe camping safari $260 and the 12-day route $390. Compare by cost per day and by inclusions, not by the headline number.
What the price usually leaves out
Read the exclusions before you compare any two safari tours in Africa. Common extras are:
- International flights (our classic package excludes them)
- Tips for guides and camp staff
- Visa fees, such as Botswana visa fees where your nationality requires one
- Alcohol and personal travel insurance
- Park fees paid at the gate, as on the Hwange trip
Check the payment terms too. We ask for a 50% deposit at booking and the balance 90 days before departure. Cancellations 90 or more days out are refunded in full minus bank charges.
When to go and what to wear
Dry-season months, roughly May to October, are the peak for game viewing, because animals gather near water. Devil’s Pool, an optional add-on, runs only from August to January. Book early for those months.
Pack neutral khaki, olive and tan. Avoid black and dark blue, which attract tsetse flies. Red is not forbidden, but neutral tones blend in better on a game drive.
Match your travel month to your add-ons before you pay a deposit.
Choosing your safari package
Pick by time first. Two days means the 1-night camp, three days means Chobe or Hwange, five days means the classic, and twelve days means the full Botswana route. Then check inclusions, since flights, tips and visas rarely sit in the headline price.
Every package here is run by guides who know Victoria Falls, Chobe, Hwange and the Okavango Delta. When you have a shortlist, see each tour page and book your safari or ask our team to adjust dates and room types.
