Victoria Falls
Adventure Tour
There is no better way to end a day at Victoria Falls than on the water. The Zambezi River at sunset turns from gold to deep orange, hippos surface and bellow in the channels between the islands, and sometimes, if the timing is right, elephants cross from bank to bank with the last light of the day on their backs.
The dinner cruise stays on the river 45 minutes longer than the standard sunset cruise, giving you time to watch the full sunset, see nocturnal wildlife beginning to appear, and eat a proper 3-course meal served on board, all while gliding through one of the most beautiful stretches of river in southern Africa.
The 3-course dinner is served on board as the cruise progresses. Menus rotate but typically include:
Dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies) can be accommodated, let us know when booking.
Departure: 15:00 in winter (May–Aug) / 16:00 in summer (Sep–Apr)
Duration: Approximately 3 hours (45 minutes longer than the standard sunset cruise)
Return: Drop-off at your Victoria Falls hotel
The cruise departs from the Victoria Falls waterfront and heads upstream along the upper Zambezi, the section above the falls, characterised by lush tropical islands, calm backwaters, and extraordinary wildlife. The river at this point is wide, the banks are forested, and the islands create natural channels where hippos rest and birds congregate in the evening.
As the sun approaches the horizon, the light turns the river gold. This is the best photography window, animals at the water's edge, silhouetted against a burning African sky. As the sun sets and darkness begins to fall, the character of the river changes: hippos become more vocal, elephants come to drink, and the first nocturnal birds begin calling.
The 3-course dinner is served as the sunset develops, so you're eating with the most spectacular views of the evening unfolding around you.
